The Problem With Behaviour Modifications Strategies When Raising Children

Does your child behave in a way that really upsets you? Do you find yourself frequently frustrated? Do you threaten punishments or offer them rewards in order to stop unwanted behaviours? Or perhaps you focus on the good behaviours, the behaviours you want to see, and reward your children when they behave in the way you like?

How are these strategies working for you? Perhaps they work at least some of the time but not without constant policing and exhaustion on your part? Have you ever found yourself wondering if there are better ways to parent? Ways that don’t leave you feeling like the bad cop?

In this podcast, I address common practices that parents use when raising children that leave them stressed and drained. I will explain why these strategies are likely causing parents far more stress than their children’s behaviours.

What am I talking about?
