Mohawk College Symposium

PRIVATE EVENT

In today’s increasingly polarized environments, the ability to stay present, curious, and

connected in difficult conversations is an essential form of moral courage. This interactive

session introduces practical, Nonviolent Communication (NVC)-informed tools to help

participants move beyond right–wrong thinking and engage more constructively across

differences. Through guided reflection and real-life examples, participants will explore how to

listen beneath words, respond without defensiveness, and reframe reactions in ways that

foster understanding and connection. The session includes time for questions and

application to participants’ own professional contexts.
