Fostering a Healthy Relationship With Food For You and Your Family
In my latest podcast, I invite adults to look at their relationship with food. What rules and traditions that you experienced in your childhood fostered a healthy relationship with food and which ones contributed to challenges and perhaps health challenges concerning food?
For example, did you have the opportunity to learn about food through meal preparation? This is 3-year old, Tydus. In this video, he prepares a meal for someone special. There are many spills and mishaps along the way, yet the amount of learning that is occurring in his experience is priceless. This video demonstrates one of the many tips I share in my podcast. (Click on the link just below the podcast on my website to watch Tydus in action.)
Food is a huge aspect of parenting. As soon as our baby is born we have questions and concerns about the quantity of food, and the quality of food they are eating. There are often many questions about what our rules and traditions should be around food preparation and consumption.
In this podcast, I offer caution in creating “forbidden” foods. This humous video demonstrates what can happen when we make foods prohibited.
Be sure to listen in to this week's podcast as I share several tips around fostering routines and a positive relationship for your family involving food.
