Collaborative Communication for Navigating Conflict

Join me and The Expert Talk for Summer Camp!

(I will be faciitating 2/8 summer camp online workshops)

Conflict is a natural part of working and communicating with other people, yet many of us were never taught how to navigate it effectively. When tension arises, conversations can quickly shift into defensiveness, avoidance, people-pleasing, over-explaining, criticism, or attempts to "win" rather than understand one another.

This workshop explores a different approach. Rather than viewing conflict as a sign that someone is right and someone is wrong, participants learn to see conflict as valuable information that can point to important needs, concerns, values, and expectations seeking attention. By developing greater awareness of what is happening beneath the surface of disagreement, participants can approach conflict with more confidence, clarity, and intention.

Through collaborative communication practices, participants will learn how to identify common conflict patterns, stay grounded when emotions run high, express themselves more effectively, and respond with curiosity rather than reactivity. The session also explores how judgment, assumptions, and misunderstandings can escalate conflict, and offers practical tools for creating more productive and respectful dialogue.

When approached skillfully, conflict can become an opportunity for greater understanding, stronger relationships, and more effective collaboration. Participants will leave with practical strategies they can apply immediately to navigate difficult conversations with greater confidence, empathy, and skill.
